Caroline Hogan M.S.

Biography

Caroline Hogan is a land manager and wildfire practitioner specializing in applied fire ecology and landscape-scale risk reduction. She earned her Master’s degree in Wildfire Ecology and Management from the University of Idaho, where her studies focused on integrating science-based strategies into practical wildfire mitigation and resilience planning. Her work centers on prescribed fire implementation, fuels management, and the use of targeted cattle grazing as a tool to reduce fire fuels, improve ecosystem health, and support long-term wildfire risk reduction. Caroline is passionate about advancing proactive wildfire mitigation, integrating ecological science with operational practice, and building resilient landscapes and communities in fire-prone environments.

In addition to her land management work, Caroline serves as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve as a Combat Engineer, where she leads and trains soldiers in engineering operations, risk management, and mission planning. Her dual background in wildfire science and military leadership informs her practical, systems-based approach to managing complex landscapes and operating in high-risk environments.
